Autumn is without doubt my favourite season. Obviously the colours are incredible and even if you’ve not got a creative bone in your body, you surely cannot help but stand and stare open-mouthed at the wonderful show put on for us (free of charge!) by Mother Nature every single year.

I love the chilly days and getting up when it’s dark, putting on a jumper in the morning and drinking hot chocolate with my daughter, cosily tucked under a blanket. And then there’s the excitement of Bonfire Night and childhood memories of stinging eyes as I got close enough to the fire to throw in the hugest potato I could find and getting sticky fingers from the bag of treacle toffee in my pocket. We have to wait another year now for that magical day.

And then there’s Christmas to look forward to. As for now, autumn is drifting into winter so it’s time to wonder and take a last look at the glorious colours all around us.
