Edinburgh knows how to make a good first impression. It’s robust and handsome, proud to show off its many sweeping Georgian crescents yet full of secret passageways and spooky streets hidden underneath its famous Royal Mile. It is a city that, once seen, can surely never be forgotten! The colours in the stone used to build the older parts of the city are particularly wonderful to me and the orange/yellow tones bring with them lots of warmth. Even when Edinburgh’s bitter winds whip icy rain underneath your umbrella, the city never manages to look miserable.
